Acure Energizing Body Lotion Review

Wow... so yeah I 've been on a little bit of a hiatus. I apologize for the long absence, but my day job has been eating up all of my time! I am back now and my new goal is to have a new post at least once every two weeks while I'm working. Once I am free for the summer, I will be posting much more often!

Anyway, on with the review! Last fall I won a bottle of this wonderful lotion from Jasanna over at MunchTalk. It is called Acure Energizing Body Lotion in Mandarin Orange + Mango. It's just lovely! The lotion is more like a cream:  it is very thick and not greasy at all. It feels very nice on my dry, winter skin and seems to last for most of the day. It has a very light fresh orange smell; it reminds me of tea!

My bottle of lotion.

It's the consistency of a body cream.

The best part is that this lotion is filled with good ingredients:

Organic Curoxidant Blend (Organic Acai Berry, Organic Blackberry, Organic Rosehips, Organic Pomegranate, Organic Calendula, Organic Chamomile, Fair Trade Certified™ Organic Rooibos), Organic Mango Ceylon, Organic Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, Emulsifying Wax NF (Vegetable), Fair Trade Certified™ Organic Cocoa Seed Butter, Organic Carthamus Safflower Seed Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Glyceryl Stearate SE (vegetable derived), Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Sunflower Oil, Infusion of Organic Calendula Flower in Fair Trade Certified™ Organic Olive Oil, Organic Argan Oil, Glucono Delta Lactone (fermented Sugar), Red Mandarin Orange Oil, Ubiquinone (CoQ10), D-Alpha Tocoperyl Acetate (100% natural Vitamin E), Organic Evening Primrose Oil, Potassium Sorbate (food grade preservative), Clove Bud Oil

It seems like most of these ingredients are plant-derived. The only one that looks questionable is Ubiquinone, which is a chemical that is used in some medications and is most likely used as a preservative here. From my research, I could not find anything damaging about this ingredient.

Acure Organics Energizing Body Lotion in Mandarin Orange is another example of a better-than-your-average lotion for a good price. It is only $9.99 for a bottle at the Acure Organics website. I will definitely be buying another bottle of this when I run out!

One final thing I noticed when I was grabbing the link for this post is that the bottle I received from the giveaway is not the same shape as the bottle that is being sold now. As you can see above, the bottle I have is a cylindrical shape and clearly says mandarin orange + mango. This specific one can still be found online with some hunting. The one that is being sold today on the Acure Organics site is a different shaped bottle and now says mandarin orange + moroccan argan stem cell advanced triple moisture body lotion. However, the ingredients are the same.

Have you discovered any great organic or natural body lotions lately? Do share!

Thanks for reading!

Until next time,
J

  1. I love this, I had it too and then got the different tube shape of their lotion, which is also great. It doesn't have phenoxyethanol and it's so hard to find body lotions without that ingredient. I've since moved to Canada and they don't sell Acure here, wah wah! I will have to make an online purchase soon.

    1. Hi Michele! Thanks so much for the comment! You are right that it is very hard to find lotions (or any "natural" products for that matter) that do not include phenoxyethanol. Even one of my favorites, J.R. Watkins, has that in it. Don't feel too bad about moving -- I don't know any physical stores in my town that sell this lotion either, so I will be ordering online too! :)
